We started off the day with a word ladder where we had to figure out synonyms.  Next we did our vocab quiz which is where we had to determine the meaning of 5 different words.  Next we had independent work time which is when we can do whatever we wanted but it had to be part of our work.  For instance we could of worked on our independent project.  After that we went to the computer lab where we had to determine 3-5 different animals that needed each other to survive.  Then we had to print a bibliography out of where we got our information.  Then we read for an hour.  We could also finish what we started in compter lab.  Then we had lunch.  After lunch we came back and had an awesome party and then we went home.  –Gus

**Book orders are due on Thursday.  Letter-essays are due next Thursday.  Students also learned today how to write a bibliography using http://www.easybib.com.  The site is a great resource for students to use when citing works for their independent project.

**Today was a crazy day.  We ended up missing our end of the day planner time because of a S.S. activity, so I forgot to remind the kids to bring their party supplies tomorrow–and to pass out supply reminder slips.  We will be having a celebration of learning tomorrow from 12:20 to 1:40.  We finished up our essay unit and are nearing the end of our units in math and science.  Students decided what to bring in for the party and what to do.  Students volunteered to bring in the supplies needed.  If your child volunteered to bring in food, please make sure that the food is nut free (both peanuts and tree nuts).  Thanks!
